We highly recommend reading the Stockmanship Journal to keep up on what’s happening in Stockmanship!
The latest issue is out now. Read about it and buy yours here.
This was our second trip to the Bethany Retreat Center near Exira, IA. It’s a great location for our classes. We’d also like to thank the Practical Farmers of Iowa for their promotional and financial support of our school.
This was our first school with 2.5 days of Stockmanship, and it was great to have more time to discuss this extensive topic.
We had another excellent Nebraska School in Brewster at Uncle Buck’s Lodge. If you’d like to have a great “Western” Bed & Breakfast experience, don’t miss Uncle Buck’s Lodge! The header image for this post is the Loupe River from the deck of the Lodge.

Richard just had another great driving experience. We returned late Tuesday from our last school in Wyoming, then on Wednesday a neighbor came over and said he had lost a bull and wondered if he was on our place. Then our other neighbor who watches over the place while we are gone said yes, he had seen the bull in one of our pastures near the road.
Our first school in Wyoming was to another great group of ranchers!
Richard, Mom, Dolly, and I took a side drive west of Buffalo, WY on Hwy 16 on our short drive today from Casper, WY to Sheridan, WY for our three day school.
We just finished putting on two, two day Proper Stockmanship Schools in Red Deer and Cochrane, Alberta, Canada. This trip was our first to Alberta, and we were very excited to meet the ranchers there who are interested in better stockhandling.
